THE ALTA HOUSE
In the Heart of Cleveland’s Little Italy

From its beginnings as a settlement house for Italian Immigrants, the Alta House was a “home away from home” for those growing up in Cleveland’s Little Italy neighborhood. More than a century later, this important landmark is still the heart of the community, where we honor the Italian heritage, but all are welcome.

Our Mission.
Alta House, Northern Ohio’s Italian Cultural Center in Little Italy, is dedicated to the preservation and enrichment of Italian culture and heritage and serves as a social and local community center offering guidance, programs and related services to individuals and organizations. With a goal to strengthening the Italian American community, the Alta House supports the continual progressive development of the Little Italy area by working together with residents, businesses, government and like-minded organizations.
Who We Are.
A Neighborhood Place
In keeping with the spirit of the original intent of The Alta House, we are a place for the neighborhood to come together for some of life’s most enriching experiences.
An Italian Cultural Center
We serve as an Italian Cultural Center and host classes and events in support of our mission. Those programs include bocce tournaments, cooking, language and genealogy classes, wine tastings, art exhibitions and more.
The Alta House Lounge
We also rent space in our beautiful Alta House Lounge for events and meetings and partner with neighborhood businesses and associations to help Little Italy continue to thrive.
